PROJECTS

Here's a small sampling of our projects.

Off-Grid Adventure Van Power Overhaul

This client’s Winnebago Travato was built with a standard AGM battery system and 1k-watt inverter. That’s just not cutting it for this off-grid adventure rig, past present or future! We made an upgrade to a Victron 3k-watt MultiPlus-II Inverter and three 330-amp Lithium Batteries. That’s enough capacity to run all on-board 120v devices and appliances (including the AC). Here are the power system accessories going into the Travato (let us know if you want help getting Victron equipment in Southern California, designing a power system for your rig, and/or installing it!):

Orion XS 12-12V 50A
MultiPlus-II 2x 120V
SmartSolar MPPT 100/30 & 100/50
Lithium Battery Smart 12,8V
Lynx Smart BMS 500
Cerbo GX
GX Touch 50
Lynx Distributor

The Tiffany: Our First Mutant Habitat

RV Revivals has been Burning Man-curious for some time! This year, we were tasked by a new client to upgrade a travel trailer that was Playa-ready; to handle the dust and the weather and the need for radical self-reliance. So we did! This Burn Mobile came from the factory with only a 50-amp shore power option and no off-grid capability. So we added 2k watts worth of solar paneling to the roof, 2 Victron inverters giving 6k watts of power, and 3 24-volt, 230 amp hour lithium batteries. The fans all got dust filters, the suspension was upgraded to 7k lbs. And then we started wiring in the neon.

While the aesthetic updates to the Burning Man travel trailer are the most show-stopping, impressive, expressive part, she’s much more underneath. Her Playa name? It’s Tiffany.

Tow-Behind Competitive BBQ Kitchen

Interior of a mobile kitchen with black and silver cabinets, a small sink, a black grill, and folding chairs stacked on the left. The floor has built-in tie-downs, and the walls have hooks and storage compartments.

This bright red toy hauler was the right size for the job, but wasn’t ideally equipped. We got to town with 80/20 aluminum extrusion focused framing, and now she looks profesh! 😙🤌 Because of our commercial building background and restaurant TI experience, we can complete any kind of commercial-grade build for your food truck or trailer (to code and everything)!

SD Air & Space Museum Mobile Classroom Bus Conversion

A mobile science and space exhibit called 'MISSION' by the San Diego Air & Space Museum, featuring a large black vehicle with colorful space-themed graphics, including stars, planets, and a satellite, inside an aircraft hangar with a ladder and some equipment around.

So this schoolie-looking bus’ previous incarnation was a mobile library, how appropriate! Now the SDASM has asked us to apply their design for a mobile classroom in our first-ever commercial application contract. Going down at Gillespie Field!

Interior of a van or camper with wooden cabinets, a window, a blue cushion seat, and a small fridge. Outside, trees and houses are visible through the windows.

FrankenVan Conversion

Affectionately named, we assure you! We were just planning an interior van conversion with the owner of this beauty when it got in a pretty bad accident involving a parking garage… ouch. No worries, our building and creative skills know no limits. The project ended up taking a terrifically different turn and resulted in a really unique creature. Check out our video tour of the finished project!

1956 Airfloat Landyacht Restoration

A vintage camper trailer with a rounded shape, made of metal with a silver exterior and red accents, parked on a sidewalk under a clear blue sky. It features round windows and has propane tanks attached at the front.

The longtime owner and collector of Americana stored this gem fastidiously, resulting in minimal wear and tear on all the original fixtures and appliances. What a looker! This is getting a yachty restoration. The object is to maintain the period feel, rather than gut-and-replace it with a totally modern look. RV Revivals is looking forward to offering the restored and fully functional version as our next Experience Rental offering, let us know if you’re interested!

Ford Econoline Van Conversion

This client wanted a simple build to adapt to that get-up-and-go dirtbag lifestyle. If you know anything about dirtbags and vanlifers (and we do!), you know that in addition to being motivated by adventure, they also have a need for accessibility and efficiency. That’s where adventure meets sophistication, and this fun build promises both to its new inhabitants.

1960 Mobile Scout Mini Trailer

The last time we met this client couple, they were looking for a remodel on their 1969 Airstream Landyacht - they’re something of a vintage trailer connoisseur! Like the last time we worked together, there were some structural issues that needed to be addressed. They also wanted some modern conveniences added - solar power, an electrical fridge, and a tankless water heater. Lots of the cool aesthetic midcentury touches had deteriorated or been lost, so we followed our own lead from their Airstream remodel, and introduced new, custom, but retro details from the floor to the mushroom curtains. The idea was to leave the trailer exterior looking well-used while tricking out the interior comfort and functionality.

Kitchen with black and white patterned floor, white cabinets, orange geometric backsplash, black countertop dishwasher, stove with wire rack on it, black faucet, window above counter with sunlight, paper towel roll, small stool, water jug, and various kitchen items.

1989 Komfort Topaz Remodel

This late 80s trailer was in great shape, but the client wanted the interior to be updated, both aesthetically and functionally. The front dinette became a bed/lounge area, and the back bed converted into an office/more counter space. The bright, modern interior opened the space up, and the original retro exterior stayed the same with the exception of some roof maintenance. We loved this project!

1969 Airstream Landyacht

This one came to us with original ‘69 interior and fixtures. We’re seeing a lot of gutting of the shiny bullet airstream shells happening live on the internet, leading to custom new ultra-modern interiors. While that TOTALLY takes skill and hard work and deserves respect, when the vintage fixtures still work and the grandma’s house vibe is really part of the charm, that deserves some reverence, too. Our job in this Airstream was to modernize the functionality while maintaining the groovy appeal. And it was a gas!

Scout Mini Vintage Trailer

Some interior improvements really gave this mini a new lease on life. Also did some roof repair and lifted her axel for a smoother, safer ride.

2007 Fourwinds Dutchman

This more modern Class C was just very… brown. We were tasked with brightening her up, and what an improvement that all-white interior turned out to be! One thing often leads to another in our line of work, and just* the interior paint job turned into a kitchen and bath counter and plumbing upgrade, too.

*There’s nothing insignificant about a complete interior paint job in any setting, especially your recreational vehicle, which likely has hard-to-paint finishes already in place on those things you long to paint, like cabinetry and wallpaper! If you don’t want to take it on yourself, we’re here to help. Give us a call to quote your interior paint job.

2005 Alfa Alpine

This work in progress continues to be a dream come true (and she drives like one, too)! The limited edition 38-foot Class A seeks only to be unique and clean. We’re taking our time and remodeling and updating every space in this baby. Not to mention rehabbing the chassis after a huge tree fell on her up near Tahoe in 2021. Anyway… Stay tuned!

1978 Nomad Skyline

This one was just sitting, waiting to be reborn. While we loved the funky appeal of the 70s green, it was time for a more simplistic upgrade. It enjoyed a short stint as a construction site office, and we’re currently looking for its next incarnation.
