You may loose cell service shortly after exiting 1-8. If you map out the directions ahead of time, you should be ok. But here are some directions for finding your way if you don’t have access to GPS.
Coming from San Diego via 8E:
Take Exit 40 for 79/Descanco/Japtul Valley Road
Stay on Japatul Valley Road for 3.6 miles
Take a right onto Japatul Lane (look for a little dirt pulloff) and continue for .5 miles
Take a right onto Japatul Highlands Road (after the horses) and continue .5 miles to the top of the hill
Coming from El Centro via 8W:
